Salman Al-Farsi (RA) said: There was a man who was given many of the luxuries of this world, and then they were taken away from him. But he continued to praise and thank Allah until everything had been taken from him, even his bed, and then he still praised and thanked Allah. Another man, who had also been given many of the luxuries of this world asked him, What are you praising and thanking Allah for? The man said, I am praising and thanking Him for blessings, if others asked me to give them to them in return for all that they have, I would never give them up. What can they be? asked the second man. Cant you see? Asked the first man. I have my eyesight, my tongue, my hands, my feet.

One blessing of Allah, a man is not able to repay Allah by all of his life savings of good deeds. A worshipper worshipped Allah for fifty years, so Allah told him that He had forgiven him. The man said, O Allah, what is there to forgive when I have not committed a wrong action? So Allah caused a nerve in his neck to give him pain, so he could not sleep or pray. When the pain eased and he was able to sleep, an angel came to him, so he complained
to the angel of the pain he had suffered. The angel told him: Your Lord says to you that your fifty years of worship is to pay for the soothing of your pain.

Ibn Abid-Dunya mentioned that Dawud (AS) asked Allah: What is the least of Your blessings? Allah revealed to him: O Dawud, take a breath. Dawud did so, and Allah told him: This is the least of My blessings on you.

Allah says:

Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for countless Favours upon you) and never be ungrateful to Me. Surah Baqarah-2:152.

And be grateful to Allah, if it is indeed He Whom you worship. Surah Baqarah-2:172.

The Prophet Sulaiman (AS)said: This is by the grace of my Lord---to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) ownself; and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his ownself). Certainly my Lord is Rich (Free of all needs), Bountiful. Surah An-Naml-27:40.

Allah's Messenger said:

The Messenger (SWS) stayed up all night, standing until his feet became swollen. When he was asked, Why are doing this, when Allah has forgiven your past and future wrong actions? he replied Should I not be grateful slave? Sahih Al- Bukhari and Muslim (Agreed upon).

How wonderful is the case of a believer; verily, everything is good for him, and this is not the case with anyone except a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better him. Sahih Muslim.

Allah is pleased with His slave if, when he eats something, he thanks Allah for it, and when he drinks something, he thanks Allah for it. Sahih Muslim.

So, let us repent and turn ourselves to the guidance of Allah and the Messenger Muhammad (SWS) and continue to remain steadfast, patient, enduring and thankfulness for His countless Nayama and countless favours upon all of us, and hoping for Allah's countless rewards in this World and the Hereafter Insha-Allah.

Let us not forget to focus ourselves in the right and correct path/direction, otherwise we may earn Allah's anger and be loser in the Hereafter. Please remember that the foundation of Islamic civilisation and Islamic values lies in building quality character and attitude towards life and death, and the World here and Hereafter. To attain this goal the rites of "Five Pillars of Islam" and be accepted among the righteous by Allah Karim we must continue to strive to follow and practise accordingly that the principles involved are reflected in our deeds, attitude and behaviours of each Muslim, absence of these substantial principles will lead our lives with pain and displeasures of Allah and ultimate unsuccess.

And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives, that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. Surah Ash-Shura-42:43.

Why should Allah punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And is Ever All-Appreciative (of good). All-Knowing. Surah An-Nisa-4:147.

Messenger (SWS) said: Patience illuminates. Sahih Muslim

One of the Du'a of our beloved Messenger (SWS): O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You and to worship You well. Ahmad and At- Tirmithi.

My closing thouhts: The extinction of race consciousness as between Muslims, is one of the outstanding moral achievements of Islam, and in the contemporary world there is, as it happens, crying need for the propagation of the Islamic value. This life is short, and its pleasures are poor; when we have obtained what we desire it is nearly time has arrived to die and inevitable return to our Allah. Indeed, is Islam a vehicle from here to the Paradise of Allah and neighbourhood of Allah Almighty. Let us not lose hope in Allah and put our complete trust in Him in all situations, regardless whatever happens to us-Muslims. Allah says: Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return". Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:156.

Let us make Du'a indivudually in times of worry and grief:

Oh Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and son of Your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. You have control over me). Your judgement upon me is assured and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name You that You have named Yourself with, revelaed in Your Book (Qur'an) taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and reliever of my distress. Ameen!
