"FORBIDDEN MATTERS"

Forbidden matters taken lightly...Part:1

There are many important things/matters about celebration & forbidden matters that we do

in our religion without correct and true knowledge of Islam, especially forbidden matters some people take it lightly. In fact, these forbidden practices are done blindly without absolute knowledge and justification in many part of the Muslim world.

Celebrating/Observing many forbidden matters never been practiced by our beloved Messenger (SWS), doing such forbidden celebration is Bid'ah, Bid'ah means something newly innovated in our religion and it is defined as the opposite of Sunnah meaning neither prescribed by Allah and His Qur'an nor through His Messenger (SWS). Bid'ah is not part

of the Islam religion. As well as such celebration never been practiced by all the companions of Messenger (SWS) and their followers.

Annual death anniversary, 4 days (Kukhani) after death, 40 days after death, Milad, Mawlid An-Nabawi, birthdays (includes individual), magic, Halloween (Shirk), worshipping the dead, sufism, Tableegh, circumambulating graves, calling saints & jinn other than Allah (Which is Shirk), invoking Prophets & the dead, christmas, fortune-telling, new year, father's day, mother's day, valentine's day, believing in astrologists, planets, superstition (like #
13, Friday the 13th etc.) & superstitious belief in omens, collective Du'a in a special gathering by raising hands (raising hands only for yourself when you make Du'a for yourself), after Jumma Khutba when Imam makes Du'a, not to raise hands at the time, but just to say Ameen after Imam (that is without raising hands/wiping face. As well as not to raise hands
collectively for Du'a after every obligatory (Fardh) Salaah (prayer) but individual can make Du'a separately for himself/herself by raising hands ending it without wiping face (there is no evidence for it) and all other unlawful celebration/observance falls under Bid'ah and it's forbidden, except marriage, walima, aqiqa, and our Two Eid. There is no absolute evidence and has no basis that our Messenger (SWS) had practiced such observance and by his companions and their followers. Now, please note carefully that if we look to the Islamic texts then we find that the general principle is for us to make du'a individually. The collective Du'a with raising hands were done in certain circumstances though, for example: the Qunoot Naazilah, the Qunoot of Witr in Ramadan and in difficult period in the prayer Magrib or other prayer. Also notice that it was not the practice of Messenger (SWS) to lead the people in collective Du'a after each obligatory (Fardh) Salaah, nor at the graveyard, nor after each programs and Dars and so on. This is what many Imams and others do today, but they have no absolute sound evidence for it.

There are many matters that have been prohibited in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Every Muslim is commanded to learn his Deen in general and these prohibitions in particular. Please remember, the Qur'an and Sunnah commands are definitely for virtues and their prohibitions are surely malicious deeds a Muslim should avoid in his every life. If he and she are really practicing Islam with true and correct knowledge will be safe and free of great sins Insha-Allah and will be saved from the the severest punishment in the Hell-fire, that will be our true and substantial success in Allah's sight and will be not losers, no doubt about it. Please remember, this is a very serious matter and not to be taken lightly.

Prior to death of our Messenger (SWS) one of the very significant & one of the last verse was revealed:

"This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion." Surah Al-Ma'idah-5:3.

"This day, I have perfected your religion....", related to this verse our greatest scholar Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah of all time had indicated very clearly that "One who goes beyond what the Messenger (SWS) has made legitimate as religion and worships through

an innovation has not, in fact, born witness that Muhammad is the Messenger (SWS) of Allah. Fatawa, Vol.:11 page # 618. Basically the true believer must know that the Messenger (SWS) left nothing which draws one nearer to Paradise except that he spoke of it and practised it.

Allah says: "And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad (SWS)), as it was to those (Allah's Messengers) before you: " If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely, (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers." Surah Az-Zumar-39:65.

As Allah Karim Says: "....And whatsoever the Messenger Muhammad (SWS) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you abstain (from it). And fear Allah; verily, Allah is Severe in punishment". Surah Al - Hasr - 59:7.

Also Allah says: " When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah has sent down. They say: Nay! We shall follow what we found our fathers following. (Would they do that!) Even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided.

" Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:170.

Our Beloved Messenger (SWS) said: Narrated Abu Najih al-Irbad ibn Sariya: The Messenger (SWS) gave us a sermon by which our hearts were filled with fear and tear came to our eyes. We said: O Messenger of Allah, it is as though this is a farewell sermon, so counsel us. He said: I counsel you to fear Allah and to give absolute obedience even if a slave becomes your leader. Verily he among you who lives long will see great controversy, so you must keep to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the rightly-guided Rshidite Caliphs - cling to them stubbornly. Beware of newly invented matters, for every invented matter is an innovation (Bid'ah) and every innovation (Bid'ah) is a going astray and every going astray is in Hell - Fire. By: Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi (Ahadith # 28, part of famous forty Hadith).

More importantly, I urge you all, especially those who are in this kind of practice, to avoid it and give up such celebration as indicated earlier. As you now understand it is Bid'ah and forbidden matter. However, with regards to parents you can make Du'a everyday in your daily prayers as we are supposed to do, that's more than enough, it does not have to be in a special gathering, we are born and bound to die Insha-Allah, and especially we are commanded to make Du'a for the parents always, because Allah has given higher status for our parents, no doubt about it.

However, I will appreciate if you all do not misunderstand me in any form, and as I am supposed to pass you the true & correct message and as well as it is my duty as a Muslim, as I received it and learned it, also you pass this important message to those who practices and unaware of it.

I close with: Our Messenger (SWS) said: "Whoever of you sees something objectionable, let him change it by his hand, and if he is unable, then by his tongue, and if he is unable, then in his heart - and that is the least of faith."

May Allah forgive us all and guide us with correct & true knowledge. Ameen!
Allah knows all best.
