Excellence Du'a (Supplication) from Qur'an and Sunnah

A Pearl Collection

by

Tasirul Islam

In The name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

A reminder, "Fa Zakir, Inna Zikhrah Tinf'a Lili Mu'umineen" - " And Remind
(by preaching the Qur'an,O Muhammad [SWS] ), for verily, the reminding
profits the believers". Surah Adh-Dhariyat - 51:55.

All praises and thanks for Allah Karim only, and Peace, Prayers and
Blessings upon our beloved Messenger (SWS), his family, Noble Companions and the followers.

And when My Slaves ask you (O Muhammad (SWS) ) concerning Me, then (answer
them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright. Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:186.

And your Lord said: "Invoke Me, (believe in my Oneness (Islamic Monotheism) and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily Those who scorn My worship (do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism) they will surely enter Hell in humiliation. Surah Ghafir - 40:60.

Messenger (SWS) said: Any of Allah's slaves who commits a sin, should first ritually purify himself, then perform two Rak'ah of prayer, and finally ask Allah for forgiveness. Surely he will be forgiven. Sahih Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi.

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger (SWS) of Allah (SWT)said: The nearest a slave comes to his Rubb is when he is prostrating himself; so supplicate more often (in this position). Sahih Muslim.

MOST SIGNIFICANT DU'A FOR ASKING FORGIVENESS:

Bismillah... I ask forgiveness from Allah, the Great, the One except Whom none has the right to be worshipped. He is the Living, the Ever-Lasting,  the oft-forgiving of sins, the Owner of Majesty and Honor. I return to Him in repentance from all sins, disobedience and offences; from any sin that I have ever committed knowingly or unknowingly, openly or secretly, by word or act, in all my movements and my thoughts; from the sin which I know, and  the sin I am unaware of, I ask for forgiveness as many times as the number of what is contained by knowledge, included in the Book, and written by the pen; and as the number of what has been created by the Power, and intended by the will; and as the amount of the ink of the Words of Allah. I ask for forgiveness that is suitable to the Majesty and Perfectness of the Countenance of Our Lord, and in the way our Lord likes and is pleased with. Ameen!

ISTIKHARAH (SEEKING ALLAH'S COUNSEL)

Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) said: The Prophet (SWS) used to teach us to seek Allah's counsel in all matters, as he used to teach us a Surah from the Qur'an. He would say: "When anyone of you has an important matter to decide, let him pray two Raka'h other than the obligatory prayer, and then say:

Oh Allah, I seek the counsel of Your knowledge, and I seek the help of Your omnipotence, and I beseech your magnificent grace. Surely You are Capable and I am not. You know and I know not, and You are the Knower of  unseen. Oh Allah, surely You know, so if this matter (then mention the thing to be decided) is good for me, in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, -  (or say) - then ordain it for me and then make it easy for me, then bless me in it. And if this matter is bad for me, in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, - (or say) - then distance it from me, and distance me from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it is to be found and help me to be content with it. Ameen!

- Sahih Bukhari.

Whoever seeks the counsel of the Creator will not regret it and whoever seeks the the advice of the believers will feel confident about his decisions. Allah said:

"And consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah". Surah Al Imran - 3: 159.

What to Say when you feel a pain in your body

Put your hand on the place where you feel pain and say:

"Bismillah"(In the name of Allah) three times and then say:

A'udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa ohaadhiru.

"I seek refuge in Allah and his power from the evilof what I find and of what I guard against"
